Smith Mountain Lake

Wow, just reviewing these restaurants makes me hungry. I’m going to have to visit soon to try some of these great eats for myself.

The Anchor Family Restaurant

Family-style dining with something for everyone.

At least one reviewer went here after having a bad experience at Benjamin’s. They indicated it was quite good.

Benjamin’s at the Pointe

I wonder if this place is a local favorite of some sort. But they certainly seem to be turning off the out-of-town visitors. Information says they service American Food. They don’t have a website of their own, but do appear to be partnered with Mariner’s landing and they do have a Facebook page. They have 641 likes, that seems pretty good.

Moosie’s

Another restaurant with questionable reviews. ‎I’m beginning to wonder if there is hope for this area. One review did say they had the best Nachos in the Western world. But, I wonder if they have actually had Nachos from places like Texas and California.

The Landing Restaurant

Finally a place with their own web page. And it is quite a beauty. Site: thelandingsml.com. I started drooling after I visited. They boost using local ingredients and working with local farmers. The establishment is family run by Bruno and Tiffany Silva. They also have a second restaurant called Bruno’s Gastropub. It looks like it is a more casual atmosphere. All the reviews on TripAdisor are 4 to 5-star.

Conclusion

One thing I am totally baffled by is the total lack of personal web presence for some of these businesses. Benjamin’s does have a Facebook page, but do you really want to leave your digital property in the hands of another. I think I’m going to start offering my services to some of these places. Maybe they just don’t have the time.
